What it does

Ready-made timers
Presets for sport, baby care, the kitchen, sleep, relaxation, DIY, the garden and work: Tabata, soft-boiled eggs, naps, breathing and many more.
Classic timer
Pick any duration and start. The app remembers the last one you used.
Your own timers
Create timers with work and rest periods, and let them switch from one to the other by themselves.
Favorites
Keep the timers you use every day on the home screen and start them in one tap.
Rings when time is up
Sound and vibration, and a notification that reaches you even if the app is closed.
Light and dark
Follows the theme of your phone or the one you choose, and the vibration can be switched off.

Free, with an optional Premium

HedgieTimer is free. The classic timer and all the presets are always available, and you can create a few custom timers at no cost. To create more, you can watch a short ad.

Premium is a yearly subscription that removes the ads and lets you create as many custom timers as you want. The store shows the price before you subscribe, and you can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

HedgieTimer privacy policy

This policy covers the HedgieTimer app for iPhone and Android, published by JOAZCO. It explains what the app does with your data, which is very little. The HedgieTools website has its own privacy page.

In short

HedgieTimer has no account and no server of ours. Your timers, favorites and settings stay on your phone, and we never receive them. We do not collect your personal data, and we never sell it. Two outside services are involved: Google AdMob, which shows the ads of the free version, and the App Store or Google Play, which handle purchases.

What stays on your phone

HedgieTimer saves the following in its own storage on your phone. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.

Timers: The timers you create, your favorites and the last duration of the classic timer.
Settings: Theme, language and vibration.
Credits and Premium: How many custom timers you can create, and whether Premium is active.
How long: Until you delete them or uninstall the app. The backup of your phone (iCloud, Google) may copy them, according to your device settings.

Notifications and device features

To ring when a timer ends, even with the app closed, HedgieTimer asks to show notifications and, on Android, to schedule exact alarms (Android grants this by default to timer and alarm apps). The notifications are scheduled on your phone itself: no push notification service is used and nothing is sent to a server.

The app can also keep the screen on while a timer is running and make your phone vibrate when time is up. It never asks for your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.

Ads in the free version

The free version shows ads, including a short video that you choose to watch to earn a custom timer. The ads are provided by Google AdMob. When an ad is requested, Google may process data from your phone, such as your advertising identifier, your IP address, information about your device and the app, and how you interact with the ad, in order to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud.

Google decides how it uses this data and we do not receive it: we only see the totals of what the ads earn. Read how Google uses information from apps that use its services (mở trong thẻ mới). You can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad personalization in your phone settings (Tracking and Apple Advertising on iPhone, Ads in the Google settings on Android).

Where the law requires your consent to ads, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the app asks for your choice before showing them. Premium removes the ads, and then no ad is requested.

Purchases

Premium is a yearly subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google takes the payment under its own privacy policy: we never see your card or payment details. The app only asks the store whether your subscription is active. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Links to the website

A few screens (More apps, the privacy policy, the terms of use) open a page in the browser of your phone. These pages follow the privacy policy of the site that serves them, such as HedgieTools for the website.

Children

HedgieTimer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and the app has no account or form where one could enter it.

Under the GDPR, you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of the data we hold about you, object to its processing or limit its use. The app keeps your data on your phone only, so we hold none about you, and you can delete it yourself by deleting your timers or uninstalling the app. For the data that Google or the stores process, contact them directly, or write to us at contact@joazco.com: we answer within one month.

If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr (mở trong thẻ mới)).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this section and announce significant changes in the release notes of the app.
